In 2021, AROHA was founded by a woman driven by purpose, passion, and a deep belief in the power of love. AROHA is more than just a name; it’s a mission, a feeling, and a way of being. Meaning “love” in Māori, AROHA captures the essence of what we stand for: kindness, strength, connection, and self-love.
Katie created AROHA with the vision of building a brand that inspires people to reconnect with themselves and each other. In a world that moves fast and often feels disconnected, AROHA is a reminder to slow down to feel and to lead with compassion toward ourselves and those around us.
Our brand was created from a simple but powerful idea love.
Love for yourself, love for your body, and love through every personal and physical change you move through. From the beginning, our vision has been to inspire women to feel confident, supported, and connected to themselves no matter the season they’re in.
The name AROHA was chosen because of its meaning love. It reflected everything we wanted our brand to stand for self-love, strength, and compassion.
We want to be transparent and clear that when our brand was established we were not fully aware of the deeper cultural significance and ties associated with the word within Māori culture. We do not wish to mislead or misrepresent in any way. AROHA is not a Māori-owned company.
That said, we hold deep respect for the meaning behind the name and the values it represents. Our inspiration has always come from the essence of love itself love within, love through growth, and love through change.
